Mysuru Set to Host Grand Job Fair, A Beacon of Hope for Karnataka’s Youth<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

MYSURU:<\/strong>\u00a0In a significant boost to employment opportunities in the region, the cultural capital of Karnataka is preparing to host a massive job fair this week. The event, poised to be one of the largest in the Mysuru division, has already garnered unprecedented interest, with over 24,000 job seekers and 221 companies registered, offering a beacon of hope for thousands.<\/p>\n

Scheduled for October 17 at the Maharaja College Grounds, the fair is expected to bridge the critical gap between talented job seekers and potential employers.<\/p>\n

Unprecedented Scale, Boundless Opportunities<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dr. Sharanprakash Rudrappa Patil, Minister for Medical Education & Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, unveiled the ambitious scale of the initiative during a press briefing on Tuesday. He confirmed the high registration numbers and highlighted the vast pool of opportunities available.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a remarkable 221 companies participating, and they have informed us of approximately 45,000 job vacancies,\u201d Dr. Patil stated. \u201cThis fair is designed to be inclusive, with opportunities for candidates across a wide spectrum of qualifications, from minimum to maximum educational backgrounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Minister extended an open invitation, encouraging even those who have not yet registered to participate. \u201cWe have made provisions for candidates to register on the spot on the day of the event. We want as many aspirants as possible to benefit from this initiative and secure a prosperous future,\u201d he added, motivating the youth of the region to seize the day.<\/p>\n

Beyond the Fair: A Continuum of Support and Skill Development<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A key highlight of the government’s strategy is its commitment to candidates beyond the single-day event. Dr. Patil outlined a supportive follow-up mechanism for those who may not immediately secure a position.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will meticulously collect data of candidates who do not get a job during the fair,\u201d he explained. \u201cBased on the skills they lack, we will provide them with targeted training. This ensures that in the coming days, they too will have the opportunity to gain employment.\u201d<\/p>\n

This approach transforms the job fair from a one-off event into a sustained campaign for workforce development.<\/p>\n

Clarifying Yuva Nidhi, Promoting Yuva Nidhi Plus<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Addressing a common concern among beneficiaries of the state’s Yuva Nidhi unemployment allowance scheme, Dr. Patil provided crucial clarification and encouragement.<\/p>\n

He dispelled the misconception that enrolling for skill development training under the \u2018Yuva Nidhi Plus\u2019 scheme would lead to the discontinuation of their allowance. \u201cThe Yuva Nidhi scheme clearly states that the unemployment allowance will be provided for two years or until one gets a job, whichever is earlier,\u201d he affirmed. \u201cI urge more candidates to enroll for the skill training offered under Yuva Nidhi Plus to enhance their employability.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initiative has already seen massive enrollment, with 3 lakh candidates statewide and 43,500 in the Mysuru division alone registered under Yuva Nidhi, all of whom are being motivated to participate in the job fair.<\/p>\n

A Proven Track Record and a Vision for the Future<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The upcoming mega fair builds on a strong foundation of success. The government’s previous efforts have already yielded significant results. \u201cSo far, six job fairs at the taluk and district level have led to 12,966 candidates securing employment,\u201d Dr. Patil reported. \u201cFurthermore, three job fairs conducted in collaboration with colleges have placed 1,177 students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond immediate placements, the Minister emphasized the fair’s role as a vital learning platform. He advised that participation allows job seekers to understand industry demands firsthand. \u201cAspirants can directly connect with employers and gauge which technologies and skills are in high demand. This knowledge is invaluable for them to proactively develop relevant skills for the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The press conference was also attended by Kanth Nayak, Chairman of the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation, Manoj Kumar Meena, Secretary of the Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department, Deputy Commissioner Laxmikant Reddy G, and M.N. Nagaraj, Managing Director of the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation, signaling a unified government effort towards this employment drive.<\/p>\n
