BENGALURU: In a significant move that underscores India’s growing importance in the global aerospace and defence sector, Rolls-Royce officially inaugurated its largest Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCC) in the city on Tuesday. The new state-of-the-art facility, located at the Manyata Embassy Business Park, is poised to become a central nerve centre for the company’s engineering, digital, and business innovation capabilities worldwide.<\/p>\n

The inauguration was led by Karnataka\u2019s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, who highlighted the strategic importance of the investment for the state. He was joined by key dignitaries including Lindy Cameron, the British High Commissioner to India, and Helen McCabe, Global CFO of Rolls-Royce.<\/p>\n

In his inaugural address, Minister MB Patil stated that the new centre reaffirms Karnataka\u2019s position as the nation\u2019s leading hub for aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering. \u201cBengaluru ranks among the world\u2019s top three aerospace cities for attracting foreign investments,\u201d Patil said. \u201cOur state hosts companies with strengths across the entire aerospace and defence value chain.\u201d<\/p>\n

He elaborated on the state’s robust ecosystem, noting leaders in various segments: \u201cIn power systems and propulsion, leaders like Aequs and Collins Aerospace stand out. In structural and mechanical components, Wipro and Mahindra Aerospace are driving progress. In specialised technologies, Boeing, Airbus, and Pixxel are pioneers. And in end-manufacturing, Sarla and Tata Advanced Systems are making significant contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n
