Bengaluru, Sept. 9<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 In a significant move to bolster digital infrastructure in government schools, the Rotary Club of Bangalore (RCB) has inked a formal agreement with the Karnataka Department of School Education and Literacy. The partnership, under the “Rotary Interactive Learning 2025-26” project, will see the installation of interactive LED panels and new desks in 100 classrooms statewide, aiming to bridge the digital divide and create a more engaging learning environment.<\/p>\n

The initiative, with an estimated value of \u20b93.5 crore, is slated for completion by June 30, 2026. The Rotary Club of Bangalore Charitable Trust (RCBCT) will provide 75-inch interactive smart boards equipped with uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems, alongside a minimum of 1,000 student desks.<\/p>\n

A Public-Private Push for Educational Equity<\/strong><\/p>\n

The collaboration was formalized at a signing ceremony attended by senior government officials and Rotary leaders. The initiative aligns with the state government\u2019s own efforts to revitalize public education infrastructure.<\/p>\n

School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa hailed the partnership as a crucial step forward. \u201cThis collaboration is a welcome step in strengthening public education,\u201d he stated. \u201cOur department\u2019s \u2018Namma Shaala Namma Javabdari\u2019 initiative has already mobilised grassroots support through school alumni. This partnership with Rotary will further enhance community participation in improving education infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scaling Up Digital Access<\/strong><\/p>\n

RCB President Sukhen outlined the club\u2019s commitment to the cause. \u201cOur intention is to provide a minimum of 1,000 benches and smart boards in government schools as part of this initiative,\u201d he said following the MoU signing. The project is designed with scalability in mind; should additional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding be secured, the program will be extended to cover more classrooms in the 2026-27 academic year.<\/p>\n

The modernized classrooms are expected to significantly enhance the quality of education by facilitating e-learning and interactive teaching methodologies, making education more accessible and effective for students.<\/p>\n

The event was witnessed by key dignitaries including Principal Secretary Smt. Rashmi Mahesh, Commissioner for Public Instruction Dr. K.V.
