While the forest thrives with elephants, tigers, and deer, the children of forest guards and tribal communities often grow up battling neglect, with limited access to schools, clean water, and basic infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"1091\">In a bid to address this challenge, Bengaluru-based social initiative <strong data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"827\">Aarohan<\/strong> has partnered with Bandipur National Park to support the education and well-being of these children. The collaboration aims to provide not just learning materials but also long-term support for facilities like clean water, sanitation, and school infrastructure.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1096\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1130\">A Promise Beyond the Forest<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1430\">\u201cThe schools here are under extreme pressure,\u201d said <strong data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1197\">Naba Saha<\/strong>, an explorer and the force behind the initiative. \u201cChildren travel long distances on foot, the classrooms lack proper sanitation, and even drinking water is unsafe. It was clear to us that these young minds needed urgent support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1432\" data-end=\"1688\">Saha, who has been associated with Aarohan\u2019s community service activities for years, played a key role in signing the <strong data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1583\">MoU with Bandipur authorities<\/strong>. What they discovered, however, was sobering.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2568\" data-end=\"2944\">The school had just two staff members for classes from first to fifth standard. Children drank directly from borewell tap water, which was not always safe. Only one toilet was functional, forcing many students to go outdoors.
