Gwalior Tourism Conclave Attracts Rs. 3,500 Crore Investment, Paving Way for Regional Transformation<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Gwalior, August 30, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 In a significant boost to Madhya Pradesh\u2019s tourism sector, the two-day Regional Tourism Conclave in Gwalior has garnered investment proposals worth Rs. 3,500 crore, a move hailed by the state government as a gateway to economic prosperity and large-scale employment generation. The event, a key initiative under the state\u2019s progressive tourism policy, saw the active participation of investors, industry stakeholders, and government officials.<\/p>\n

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, addressing the conclave at the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University campus, declared tourism a critical pillar for strengthening the state and national economy. \u201cTourism and pilgrimage are gateways to prosperity for our nation, especially for Madhya Pradesh. Being the \u2018Heart of India\u2019, our state is giving special priority to tourism development to elevate its global identity,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Immediate Investments and Job Creation Kickstarted<\/strong><\/p>\n

Demonstrating immediate traction, the Chief Minister issued Letters of Allotment (LOAs) to six investors for seven land parcels, catalyzing an initial investment of over Rs. 60 crore. These projects, which include the development of hotels, resorts, and eco-tourism units across districts like Mandsaur, Dhar, Burhanpur, Shajapur, and Vidisha, are expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment.<\/p>\n

Heritage and Infrastructure Receive Major Push<\/strong><\/p>\n

Underlining the focus on Gwalior\u2019s rich cultural legacy, foundation stones were laid for heritage development works valued at over Rs. 75 crore. This includes Rs. 17 crore for the revitalization of the historic Phoolbagh area under the \u2018Swadesh Darshan 2.0\u2019 scheme and Rs. 58.46 crore for development works at the upcoming Raja Mansingh Tomar Music and Arts University.<\/p>\n

Preserving and promoting it will make the state economically self-reliant,\u201d Dr. Yadav emphasized.<\/p>\n

Digital Promotion and Film Policy to Enhance Reach<\/strong><\/p>\n

To amplify the state’s tourism appeal in the digital age, four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading firms\u2014Yap Digital, Crayons Advertising, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., and Concept Communications\u2014for large-scale influencer marketing and promotion of tourist sites and events.<\/p>\n

The state\u2019s film-friendly ecosystem was also highlighted. Actor Piyush Mishra noted, \u201cMadhya Pradesh\u2019s film policy has made shooting easier with its friendly environment. The state\u2019s theatre traditions and supportive ecosystem will help cinema and young talent flourish.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investors Express Strong Confidence<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conclave served as a powerful platform for investor engagement. Industrialist Sachin Gupta presented a proposal of Rs. 1,000 crore, setting the tone for the event. The diverse range of proposals covered luxury resorts, hospitality chains, and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

Investors expressed strong confidence in the state’s potential. Aman Nath, Director of Neemrana Hotels, described MP as a \u201chub of heritage and connectivity,\u201d ideal for tourism. Asad Lalljee of Essar Group and the Royal Opera House Mumbai praised the rapid development under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Yadav. Ravi Gosain, President of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), confirmed that over 200 tour operators would participate in Familiarization (FAM) tours to explore Gwalior\u2019s offerings.<\/p>\n

A Conclave for Regional Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

The broader regional impact of the event was a key focus for officials. Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar stated, \u201cCM Dr. Yadav\u2019s comprehensive efforts for investment will strengthen Madhya Pradesh\u2019s economy. This conclave will unlock new avenues for the Gwalior-Chambal and Bundelkhand regions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Echoing this sentiment, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat noted that the series of Regional Tourism Conclaves is delivering meaningful results and setting new benchmarks. Dharmendra Lodhi, Minister of State for Tourism, pointed to Gwalior\u2019s designation as a UNESCO City of Music and the state\u2019s 18 UNESCO-recognized sites as proof of its \u201climitless tourism opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event also featured an exhibition of local handicrafts, including terracotta, wooden toys, and patchwork apparel, which impressed national investors and art enthusiasts, leading to immediate business inquiries for local artisans. The conclave is a precursor to the larger Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart scheduled for October 11-13, positioning the state for a transformative era in tourism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
