Minister Santosh Lad stresses self-change for social transformation<\/h3>\n

Hubballi, Aug. 17:<\/strong> Karnataka Labour Minister and Dharwad district in-charge Santosh S. Lad on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed Government High School at Chabbi village in Hubballi taluk, calling on citizens to take responsibility for social change.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Lad said literacy levels in India had improved from around 20\u201325 percent during the pre-independence period to nearly 75 percent today, but unemployment among youth remained a major concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout 87 percent of young people are struggling without jobs. We must face the realities of the country honestly. Solutions to our national problems will come only when people themselves come forward. If society needs change, we must begin by changing ourselves,\u201d Lad said.<\/p>\n

He urged people to follow the path shown by thinkers such as Buddha, Basavanna, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. \u201cEveryone must be treated with equality and respect. Unity of the nation will never fade,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018Parents deserve respect first\u2019<\/h3>\n

Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, who also addressed the gathering, emphasised the importance of family and collective effort in development.
\u201cWe must begin by respecting our parents. The progress of villages depends on everyone\u2019s cooperation, and the development of the nation requires joint efforts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n

Education Minister outlines new initiatives<\/h3>\n

School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa formally inaugurated the school and announced several educational initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter nearly 40 years, Chabbi village has finally got a high school. This has been made possible with special focus and care. The sound of school bells should resonate louder than temple bells,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

Bangarappa said the state government aimed to establish one Karnataka Public School in each of the state\u2019s 6,500 gram panchayats. He added that bilingual education was being introduced in 4,000 schools, and 5,000 LKG and UKG schools would be opened across Karnataka.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo prepare students for competitive examinations, 25,000 children will be given free training for NEET and JEE,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n

Leaders and dignitaries attend<\/h3>\n

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashoka, MLA M.R. Patil, media executive Ajit Hanumakkanavar, and actress Saptami Gowda were among the dignitaries present.<\/p>\n

A newly built computer laboratory was also inaugurated on the occasion.<\/p>\n

The programme was attended by Hubballi Rural Tahsildar J.B. Majjagi, DDPI S.S. Keladimath, Hubballi Rural Education Officer Umesh Bommakkanavar, Chabbi Gram Panchayat president Ravi Hullambi, members of the local panchayat, PDO Chandrashekhar Pujari, schoolteachers, students, and villagers.<\/p>\n
