Bengaluru:<\/b> <\/span>The state government has pledged a serious investigation into the recent maternal and infant deaths at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) hospital. Medical Education and Skill Development Minister Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil made the assurance in the Legislative Council on Monday, responding to a calling attention motion raised by MLC N. Nagaraj.<\/p>\n

In his statement, Minister Patil confirmed he has instructed officials to submit a detailed report on the tragic incidents. While acknowledging the gravity of the situation, he moved to clarify concerns regarding staffing, stating that the hospital has “adequate staff and doctors.”<\/p>\n

The minister\u2019s remarks came amid public speculation and reports suggesting a shortage of medical personnel contributed to the deaths. Dr. Patil directly addressed these concerns, asserting that BIMS is sufficiently staffed to handle its patient load.
