The group raised alarm over the continued marginalization of Muslims in the political structure of Karnataka, despite the community’s overwhelming support for the Congress party in the 2023 Assembly elections.<\/p>\n

The memorandum pointed out that although Muslims constitute over 13% of the state\u2019s population, their representation in the Legislative Council has declined from eight members in recent years to just four currently.
