However, health officials have assured the public that there is no reason to panic.<\/p>\n<p>After a review meeting held at Vikas Soudha with directors of government medical colleges and hospitals, Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Raichur district in-charge, addressed the media. \u201cCOVID cases are increasing daily, but there is no need for undue worry,\u201d he said. \u201cThe government is fully prepared. We request the public, especially pregnant women and elderly people, to use masks in crowded places. People should cooperate with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The minister emphasized that students with symptoms such as fever, cold, or cough should not be sent to school. We are ensuring readiness in case of any surge,\u201d Dr. Patil said.<\/p>\n<p>While masks are not mandatory for the general public at this time, they are advised for those showing symptoms. \u201cHealth workers have been instructed to wear masks. Seasonal illnesses are also on the rise due to weather changes, so we are monitoring the situation closely,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Bengaluru is currently reporting the highest number of COVID cases in the state, but officials say the spread is not rapid. \u201cMost people are vaccinated. If needed, we\u2019ll coordinate with the Union Health Ministry for vaccine supplies,\u201d the minister stated.<\/p>\n<p>Also present at the meeting were Mohammed Moshin, Principal Secretary of Medical Education, and Dr. Sujatha Rathod BL, Director of Medical Education.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"187\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\ud83d\udce2 <strong data-start=\"146\" data-end=\"187\">Statements:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol data-start=\"189\" data-end=\"1313\">\n<li data-start=\"189\" data-end=\"461\">\n<p data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"461\"><strong data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"253\">Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education:<\/strong><br data-start=\"253\" data-end=\"256\" \/>\u201cCOVID cases are increasing, but there is no need for panic. If symptoms appear during school hours, schools should inform parents and send the child home.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"920\">\n<p data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"920\"><strong data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"715\">On Testing and Infrastructure:<\/strong><br data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"718\" \/>\u201cTesting for all Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases will continue. Labs have been set up across four divisions. Data on oxygen beds and ventilators is being updated to ensure readiness.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1123\">\n<p data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"1123\"><strong data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"943\">On Mask Usage:<\/strong><br data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"946\" \/>\u201cMasks are not mandatory for everyone at this point. However, people showing symptoms, as well as pregnant women and the elderly in crowded areas, are advised to wear masks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1313\">\n<p data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1313\"><strong data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1160\">On Vaccine and Preparedness:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1163\" \/>\u201cMost citizens are already vaccinated.
