Bengaluru:<\/strong>\u00a0In a significant development in the gold smuggling case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe by conducting searches at multiple locations in Bengaluru, including the residence of accused Ranya Rao, the hotel where her wedding was held, and the offices of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).<\/p>\n

The CBI\u2019s investigation aims to gather evidence related to Ranya Rao\u2019s alleged involvement in the smuggling racket. Sources within the agency revealed that officials are scrutinizing wedding footage and guest lists to identify individuals who may have connections to the case. Additionally, they are examining expensive gifts exchanged during the wedding and cross-checking land records approved by KIADB during specific periods.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case has expanded beyond Ranya Rao, and we are investigating potential links to other individuals,\u201d a CBI source said. The agency is reportedly focusing on gathering concrete evidence to establish the accused\u2019s role in the smuggling network.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a special court dealing with economic offenses in Bengaluru has postponed the hearing on Ranya Rao\u2019s bail application to a later date. The court had earlier directed the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) to file objections to her bail plea. Following the court\u2019s directive, DRI investigating officer Nageshwar Rao submitted objections, urging the court to deny bail to Ranya Rao.<\/p>\n

The gold smuggling case has drawn significant attention due to its alleged connections to high-profile individuals and the involvement of large-scale illegal activities. As the CBI continues its investigation, further details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the extent of the smuggling network and its key players.<\/p>\n
